A printer, publisher, Hellenist and art collector, the son of Firmin Didot, whose firm he took over.

A member of the Paris municipal council, he was promoted officer of the Légion d’honneur by a decree of 31 December 1855[1]. The decree, countersigned by the Minister of the Interior and printed in the Bulletin des lois, describes him as a knight since 1835[2].

Ancestor no. 40 of Augustin Cochin, on his father’s side, in the Pierfit collaborative tree on Geneanet.

    The OCR reads “i835”; the decree’s date, 31 December 1855, is the one on his card.
